Point Arena Lighthouse

Point Arena Lighthouse is located in Mendocino County, California, two milles north of Point Arena. This lighthouse was constructed in 1870 with a brick-and-mortar tower included ornate iron balcony support. This site also has a large keeper residence with enough space to house several families. The keeper's residence and lighthouse were damaged severely in the San Francisco earthquake, April 1906, that they had to be demolished. 

The new lighthouse was rebuilt in 1908. It stands 115ft (35m) and featured a 1st Order Fresnel Lens, over 6 feet in diameter and weighing more than six tons. This lens gave Point Arena Lighthouse its unique "light signature" of 2 flashes every six seconds.

Point Cabrillo Light Station

Point Cabrillo Light is a lighthouse in northern California, between Point Arena and Cape Mendocino. It was built in 1909. The complex includes the lighthouse itself together with several outbuildings. Most of the original structures remains, but the barn was desctroyed in 1986 in a fire department exercise. The remaining lighthouse is one of the most complete light stations in the United States.

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Pigeon Point Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse on the West Coast of the United States located between Santa Cruz and San Francisco on the coastal highway. It was build in 1871 to guide ships on the Pacific coast of California. It is still an active Coast Guard aid to navigation.
