Antarctica

An expedition to Antarctica is a journey into the earth’s most extreme, isolated, and visually arresting wilderness. Whether undertaken for scientific research or modern polar exploration, an itinerary in this frozen territory balances demanding environmental navigation with profound wildlife and landscape encounters. Most expeditions depart from the southern tip of South America (Ushuaia) and spend two intense days navigating the Drake Passage—a 500-mile stretch of volatile open ocean where the Atlantic, Pacific, and Southern oceans collide. The expedition is between November and March with polar summer having 20-24 hours of daylight.

My Antarctica collection includes:

  • Antarctica Expedition: Antarctica expedition ship is typically an ice-strengthened sanctuary engineered to navigate volatile polar oceans, serving as a mobile base camp for launching Zodiac excursions into remote, glacier-carved channels.
  • Intrepid Expedition:
  • Antarctica Landscape: Vast, otherworldly expanse where towering black volcanic peaks pierce colossal glaciers and colossal ice structures, reflecting an absolute stillness under the polar sun.

  • Sea Lion: While true sea lions are actually sub-Antarctic visitors rather than permanent residents on the continent, they are powerful, agile eared seals that occasionally hunt along the icy fringes of the Southern Ocean.
  • Leopard Seal: A powerful, apex polar predator with a sleek, spotted grey coat and a massive, reptile-like jaw, uniquely engineered to hunt penguins and krill along the icy fringes of the Southern Ocean.
  • Fur Seal: An agile, eared marine mammal covered in a thick, velvety double-coat of fur, known for its sharp whiskers and aggressive territorial displays along rocky shorelines.
  • Gentoo Penguin: Recognizable by the bright white patch across the top of its head and a vibrant orange-red bill, this agile marine hunter is the fastest swimming penguin in the world.
  • Gentoo Penguin Chicks: In March, these fast-growing, molting adolescents swap their fluffy grey down for sleek, waterproof adult plumage as they prepare to take their very first steps into the freezing Southern Ocean.
  • Gentoo Penguin & Water:
  • Gentoo Penguin & Ice:
  • Gentoo Penguin & The Ocean:
  • Gentoo Penguin Colony:
  • Ushuaia, Argentina: Perched at the rugged southern tip of South America, this wind-swept Argentine port is famously known as the "End of the World" and serves as the ultimate bustling gateway for expeditions bound for Antarctica.

Namibia

In March 2023, a long-held dream became reality during an extraordinary trip with Nhiếp Ảnh & Du Lịch. This journey across Namibia unfolded as a visual feast of stark contrasts, taking us deep into the surreal, sun-bleached clay pan of Deadvlei, where ancient skeletons of camel thorn trees stand frozen against towering red dunes. From the dramatic desert, we traced the coastline to the mist-shrouded shores of Walvis Bay, captured the haunting, sand-swallowed interiors of the Kolmanskop ghost town, and felt the wild, wind-swept isolation of Diaz Point. Our African odyssey was seamlessly framed by a memorable transit through the bustling,

Fort Imperial, Dubrovnik

Fort Imperial (known locally as Tvrđava Imperialis a historic limestone fortress perched 412 meters atop Mount Srđ, overlooking Dubrovnik, Croatia. Built by Napoleon’s forces between 1806 and 1812, it was designed to guard the strategic Adriatic coast. The Austro-Hungarian Empire later expanded and heavily fortified the structure as a vital regional garrison. It served as the crucial Croatian stronghold during the devastating Siege of Dubrovnik by Yugoslav forces in 1991. On December 6, 1991, just 31 outnumbered defenders repelled a massive assault, saving the city below. The battle became a powerful symbol of modern Croatian resilience and a psychological turning point in the war.

The Bay of Kotor, Montenegro

The Bay of Kotot, often referred to as Boka, is a winding, butterfly-shaped bay in southwestern Montenegro along the Adriatic Sea. Renowned for its dramatic landscapes and deep historical roots, it stands as one of the most striking and visited regions in the Balkans. The bay is a submerged river canyon that creates the visual impression of a northern European fjord, but with a Mediterranean climate.

  • The Old Town of Kotor: Tucked into the inner corner of the bay, Kotor is a fortified medieval labyrinth of cobblestone streets, Romanesque churches, and Venetian palaces. The town is crowned by ancient defensive walls that snake up the steep hillside to the Fortress of San Giovanni, offering spectacular panoramic vistas.
  • Perast and the Islets: A short distance along the coast lies Perast, a remarkably preserved quiet stone town of baroque architecture. Just offshore sit two iconic islets: Sveti Đorđe (St. George), home to a 12th-century monastery surrounded by cypress trees, and Gospa od Škrpjela (Our Lady of the Rocks), an artificial island built over centuries by sailors dropping rocks and sinking old ships, now hosting a beautiful church and museum.
